CROYDON COLLEGE

CROYDON COLLEGE

The Hambleton Partnership has worked alongside Croydon College for a number of years providing structural consultancy services for the Colleges extensive program of redevelopment of its current campus.

Croydon Colleges main project features a four storey plus two storey basement extension to the front of the College. The aim of the project was to provide the College with a new and welcoming main entrance and focal point. The new extension has a full height atrium which allows natural light to flood into the new entrance foyer.

Another part of the project involved extensive refurbishment to the inside of the existing building, incorporating new services and classroom layouts.

To enable the project to run smoothly The Hambleton Partnership carried out extensive research into the structure of the existing building; ensuring that the new proposals would mesh seamlessly with the existing building.

The overall construction cost of the project including the internal refurbishment, a single storey roof extension and the front extension was approximately £30 million.

The project was featured in the October 2010 edition of ‘New Steel Construction’ magazine.  Please click here for details.
