Langley Campus

East Berkshire College's Langley College campus currently serves over 2,400 students from the Langley and Slough area. An exciting £30m improvement project at Langley College has commenced to include refurbishment and state-of-the-art learning facilities, including a new Hospitality & Catering Academy.

 

The improvements include some internal remodelling and extension to the existing main building to provide more social spaces and study areas for students, new learning centre, enhanced learning environments and improved landscaping.  

 

Phase 1 improvements included:

 

The first phase of improvements began in summer 2012 and includes a new multi-purpose Sports Centre and a Hospitality & Catering Academy. Work on the new Sports Centre is now complete. Officially opened in May 2013, the new centre features a sports hall, gym, dance studio and changing rooms.

As part of the plans, a new Hospitality & Catering Academy were completed in August 2013, accommodated professional training kitchens and a working restaurant.

 

Phase 2 of the development included a new commercial hair and beauty salons, enhanced facilities for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, a simulated hospital environment for Health & Social Care and a brand new Innovation Lab. Two existing lecture theatres will also be transformed into a single spacious lecture theatre.

Facilities include:

  • specialist workshops (e.g. welding, bricklaying)

  • new hair and beauty training salons (open to the public)

  • autotronics and computing facilities

  • Microsoft Academy and Cisco Academy

  • new innovation centre

  • Hospitality & Catering Academy (public restaurant)

  • £5m sports centre (including gym and sports hall)

  • engineering workshop with new CNC machine centre

  • new STEM project and research space
